No maritime incidents occurred during the Traslacion or the Fiest of the Black Nazarene, according to the Philippine Coast Guard on Tuesday, January 9.
"According to the Coast Guard District National Capital Region—Central Luzon, no maritime-related incident was recorded during the said event," the PCG said in a statement.
PCG's maritime patrol operations and land-based security measures were conducted along the Pasig River vicinity to safeguard devotees participating in the sacred occasion.
In collaboration with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), PCG said an additional ferry boat and four-speed boats had been stationed strategically to enhance safety measures along the river.
Moreover, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) deployed three floating assets to assist in ensuring the safety and security of all participants throughout the celebration.
In total, a fleet of 18 maritime security and safety floating assets had been positioned strategically along the Pasig River.
