Brgy. Ginebra and TNT Tropang Giga will use the Holy Week to prepare for the upcoming 2023 PBA Governors' Cup finals.
Ginebra head coach Tim Cone confirmed on Monday, April 4, that the team will continue to practice throughout the Lenten season.
"The longer break poses its own problems. It is not simple. You have to be careful. You don't just do a waiting game, and wait for the first game to start," Cone said during the press conference.
"You have got to take each day as it comes, and make sure you are preparing each day, and doing, putting the work in. It is really easy to slip," stressed Cone, who has won 25 PBA championships as a coach.
TNT guard RR Pogoy agreed that the more-than one-week break has an advantage and disadvantage for the teams.
"Advantage din kasi makapagpahinga, refreshed yung body, pero disadvantage din kasi matagal yung laro baka mawala sa momentum," Pogoy explained.
"Mas maganda yung galing ka sa laro, yung galing ka sa panalo, mas maganda yung momentum," he added.
Tropang Giga rookie head coach Jojo Lastimosa confirmed that the team would not dally during the Holy Week break.
The first game in the best-of-seven series will happen on Easter Sunday, April 9, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.
