The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Thursday, August 15, that no severe weather conditions are expected in the country for the next two to three days.
In a weather forecast aired on Magandang Umaga Pilipinas, Rhea Torres from DOST-PAGASA confirmed that no low-pressure area (LPA) or typhoon has been detected within the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
"Sa kasalukuyan po ay wala tayong binabantayan na LPA o bagyo sa loob ng Philippine Area of Responsibility at for the next two to three days ay wala rin tayong inaasahan na sama ng panahon na posibleng magdulot ng maghapon na mga pag-ulan sa ano mang bahagi ng ating bansa," Torres reported.
(As of now, we are not monitoring any LPA or typhoon within the Philippine Area of Responsibility, and for the next two to three days, we do not expect any weather disturbances that could cause widespread rainfall in any part of the country.)
However, the effects of the Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, will continue to bring unstable weather, particularly in Northern Luzon.
The Ilocos Region, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.
The Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, also caused by Habagat.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect localized thunderstorms that will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Sunrise will be at 5:42 AM, and sunset will be at 6:19 PM.
