In a recent statement from the Philippine National Police (PNP) Forensic Group, it was reported that no DNA profiles were found in the skeletal remains retrieved from Taal Lake in relation to the 'missing sabungeros' case.
According to Edniel Parrosa's report, the PNP Forensic Group presented the skeletal remains found near Taal Lake. While these remains are significant to the investigation, PNP Spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo noted on Thursday that, due to their decomposition, the bones are believed to have been submerged in the lake for a long period of time.
Additionally, Fajardo mentioned that DNA profiles were collected from a nearby cemetery, yielding three profiles; however, these did not match the 23 profiles of the families involved.
The PNP plans to utilize the skeletal remains for other cases unrelated to the "missing sabungeros."
“Just like we did doon sa mga nauna po, dadaan ng proseso po dna examination and cross matching po doon sa posibleng miyembro po ng posibleng isa sa mga nawawalang missing sabungero o iba pa pong napaulat na nawawalang biktima,” Fajardo said.
Even after the unsuccessful matching of DNAs, Fajardo expressed PNP's dedication to resolving this case and will not be affected by anyone until justice is served to the 'missing sabungreos'.
