Typhoon Nika made landfall in Dilasag, Aurora, and is currently moving across northern Luzon, PAGASA reported on Monday.
According to PAGASA's 11 AM weather bulletin, Typhoon Nika is located over San Agustin, Isabela.
It has maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h, gusts of up to 180 km/h, and is moving northwestward at 25 km/h.
Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4 is in effect in these areas:
- The northernmost portion of Aurora
- the central and southern portions of Isabela
- Kalinga
- Mountain Province
- the northern portion of Ifugao
- the central and southern portions of Abra
- the northern and central portions of Ilocos Sur
Moreover, TCWS No. 3 is hoisted in the following areas:
- The central portion of Aurora
- the northern portion of Quirino
- the northeastern portion of Nueva Vizcaya
- the rest of Isabela
- the southwestern portion of Cagayan
- the southern portion of Apayao
- the rest of Abra
- the rest of Ifugao
- the northern portion of Benguet
- the southern portion of Ilocos Norte
- the rest of Ilocos Sur
TCWS No. 2 is raised in the following areas:
- The northwestern and eastern portions of Cagayan

- the northeastern portion of Pangasinan
- the central portion of Aurora

The wind signals alert the public to the general wind threat in an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger or enhanced in coastal and mountainous areas exposed to the winds.
Meanwhile, Typhoon Nika is expected to cross the landmass of mainland Luzon today and emerge over the sea west of Ilocos Sur by this afternoon or evening.
This tropical cyclone may weaken into a severe tropical storm as it crosses mainland Luzon due to interaction with land.
The next tropical cyclone bulletin will be released at 2:00 PM today.
