Reuters and The Associated Press (AP) were among the major news agencies that issued a “kill notification,” reminding the public that a story has been killed and should not be distributed.
AP claimed that its reason for killing the story lies in the seemingly manipulated photo of the Princess of Wales.
“At closer inspection it appears that the source has manipulated the image. No replacement photo will be sent,” its statement read.

Reuters also announced the removal of their post of the Princess of Wales.
“Kate, the Princess of Wales, through the years. We are deleting a post containing an image of the Princess of Wales following a post-publication review,” the news agency said.

Worries and speculations on Middleton’s whereabouts have appeared across social channels since an earlier update in January after her abdominal surgery.
The image shared by Kensington Palace was the first photo of Middleton since she was seen publicly in December and after a paparazzi photo released by TMZ this Month.
