by Mika Jenymae Rasing01 January 2025

As New Year’s Eve celebrations came to a close after midnight, tons of food and plastic wastes, and firecracker debris were left scattered along some of the streets in Manila.

The report by RH 15 Jecelle Ricafort, revealed that thousands of people gathered at Luneta Park to celebrate and welcome the year 2025. After the community gathering, streets were left with piles of garbage, noting that some spaces even smelled of urine.

Meanwhile, one area in Sta. Cruz Manila also accumulated a ton of garbage after the celebration.

Subsequently, food and plastic wastes also piled up along the roads of Tondo, Manila. Although the New Year celebration left most of the roads clear, the event’s aftermath reflected in the trash piling up.
