San Juan City Councilor Angelo Agcaoili has sworn as the City’s Vice Mayor, the City government announced on Monday, June 26.
In a Facebook post, San Juan City Counsel Office said Agcaoili took his oath during the flag raising ceremony in San Juan City Hall.
San Juan Mayor Francis Zamora administered the ceremonial oathtaking.
Local officials who witnessed the oathtaking were San Juan District Representative Bel Zamora and City Councilors Rolando Totoy Bernardo, Bea De Guzman, Ervic Vijandre, James Yap, Ryan Deeco Llanos Dee, Raissa Laurel-Subijano, Franco Tañada-Yam, Kit Peralta, Ismael Macky Mathay IV, Don C Allado, Herbert Chua, and Ariel Atad.
“We ask that we, as a united City, join in praying that our new Vice-Mayor Angelo, will continue to have the strength, passion, dedication & love for serving the people of San Juan, which he has been doing since 2010,” the San Juan City Counsel Office said.
Agcaoili automatically assumed the position following the passing of former Vice Mayor Warren Villa last June 18.
This is in accordance with Section 44 of the Local Government Code of 1991 which stated the second highest ranking Sanggunian member, shall become the governor, vice-governor, mayor, or vice-mayor once a permanent vacancy occurs.
