Police Lieutenant General Rhodel Sermonia has been appointed as the new Philippine National Police (PNP) officer-in-charge while PNP Chief Rodolfo Azurin Jr. is in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to attend a conference.
Sermonia's appointment was stipulated under the PNP memorandum dated February 5 and signed by Police Lieutenant General Michael John Dubria.
"In addition to his other duties and responsibilities has been designated as officer-in-charge, Philippines National Police (OIC, PNP) effective until the return of the incumbent," the order reads.
On Sunday, Azurin flew to UAE to attend the 24th Asian Regional Conference ng International Criminal Police Organization (ICPO-Interpol).
The PNP Chief is with the 10 delegation members.
The ICPO-Interpol will start on February 7 and end on February 9.
