As part of its 40th anniversary since it was established, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) launched its brand new logo on Tuesday, July 12.
The new logo was revealed by PAGCOR Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Alejandro Tengco, President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, and House Speaker Martin Romualdez during the agency's 40th-anniversary celebration held at the Marriott Hotel Manila in Pasay City.
The new PAGCOR logo features a curved shape, similar to a claw of a crab, in the colors blue and red. The agency's name is placed at the bottom.
This is very far from the old logo where there is an illustration of two green hands holding the bright-yellow sun, with the PAGCOR's name placed at the top.
In a news release posted on its website, PAGCOR said that it had incorporated "elements of fire associated with energy, inspiration, passion, and transformation" in the newly-released logo to represent its re-energized role as the main gaming regulator in the country.
"The logo likewise reflects a beacon which symbolizes guidance, leadership, and direction. It represents a guiding light that helps people find their way,” it added.
Aside from this, PAGCOR said its long-standing commitment of "being a guiding force that illuminates the way forward, drives transformation and development" can be seen in the new logo.
According to the agency's procurement document dated June 27, the design of the new logo has a contract price of ₱3,035.714.
This document was signed by PAGCOR President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Victor Paul Mallillin.
