The enforcement of the gun ban began last August 28 and will be in effect until November 29.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, Fajardo said 3,000 police officers, who have family members running for the BSKE, would be reassigned to another post.
She said most of the reassigned were police who have a family relative up to the fourth civil degree of consanguinity or affinity.
The PNP spokesperson said the reshuffle aims to thwart possible conflicts of interest and maintain the integrity of the October polls.
