The total number of reported deaths due to the shear line rains and flooding in Visayas and Mindanao has climbed to 13, with 6 injured, and 23 missing, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Tuesday.
In its 5 am situational report, only two deaths reported in Eastern Visayas were confirmed. While the 11 perished individuals from Bicol, Zamboanga, and Northern Mindanao are still being verified.
The affected population is now 44,282 families or 166,357 individuals in Mimaropa, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga, Northern Mindanao, and Bangsamoro.
Of these, 10,536 families, or 45,337 individuals were taking shelters inside 87 evacuation centers, while 3,376 families, or 45 individuals were situated outside or staying with their relatives and friends.
About 534 houses were reportedly damaged — 369 were partially damaged and 165 were totally damaged.
The NDRRMC also reported that the shear line caused 22 infrastructure damages in Regions 5 and 10, amounting to Php 14,580,000.
