The number of individuals who died due to Super Typhoon Karding has climbed to 12, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Friday, Sept. 30.
In its latest situation bulletin, the NDRRMC said out of 12 casualties, eight have been verified — five individuals in Bulacan, one in Quezon, one in Zambales, and one in Quezon.
The remaining four deaths including two in Rizal, one in Antipolo, and one in Zambales are still subject to verification.
Also waiting for validation are the five people reported missing in Camarines Norte, and one in Quezon.
The agency said 52 individuals were reported injured.
Meanwhile, a total of 245,063 families or 911,404 individuals were affected in 1,759 barangays in Regions 1, 2, 3, 5, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
The NDRRMC said about 3,955 persons were displaced inside 27 evacuation centers. While 43,860 individuals were staying with their friends and/or relatives.
The reported damaged houses were now at 56,916 in Region 1, Region 2, Region 3, Calabarzon, and CAR.
About 74 out of the 116 municipalities/cities that experienced power interruption has been restored.
There were reported 13 roads and 3 bridges still not passable in Regions 2, 3, and CAR.
