A total of 44 individuals were reported injured due to the magnitude 6.4 earthquake that struck Abra province and other parts of Luzon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (NDRRMC) reported on Thursday, Oct. 27.
In its 8 am situational report, NDRRMC said 18,478 families or 61,514 individuals were affected.
Of which, 22 families or 76 persons were displaced from their homes and staying inside three evacuation centers. While 140 families or 265 persons are not in evacuation centers.
There were no reported fatalities or missing persons.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,821 damaged houses were reported in Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR).
Of 1,821, 1,813 houses were partially damaged and 8 houses were totally damaged.
The estimated infrastructure damage costs amount to Php 52.738 million, NDRRMC said.
Affected families were aided with financial assistance, sleeping kits, family food packs, and Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), it said.
