At least ten individuals reportedly perished amid the heavy rains and floods caused by the combined low-pressure area (LPA), monsoon, and shear line, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Thursday, January 12.

In its latest data, the NDRRMC said one individual is confirmed dead while 9 others are still up for confirmation.

The affected regions are Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Western Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Davao Region, and the Bangsamoro Region.

The NDRRMC also reported that two individuals werre reported missing and four sustained injuries.

A total of 438,998 individuals or 106,143 families were affected by the heavy rains and floods.

Of these numbers, about 1,461 families or 5,481 individuals are situated inside 42 evacuation centers while 249 individuals are staying with their friends and relatives.

At least 494 houses were damaged — 359 were partially damaged and 135 were totally damaged.

On the other hand, the NDRRMC reported that about 137 infrastructures were damaged.

The estimated damaged cost was pegged at Php 165,745,496.
