The number of people injured as a result of Typhoon Egay and the southwest monsoon, or habagat, has risen to 140, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Thursday.

According to the agency's most recent situation report, 127 people have been confirmed injured, all of whom are from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). Meanwhile, the remaining 13 are still being validated: eight in Davao Region, two in Western Visayas, two in Calabarzon, and one in Ilocos (Region 1).

The number of reported deaths remained at 27, with two confirmed and the remaining 25 still being validated.

Moreover, 13 people have been reported missing and are awaiting confirmation at this time. Eight of those reported missing are from the Central African Republic, four from Region 2 (Cagayan Valley), and one from Region 1.

All of this data is subject to change as these stories are validated or confirmed. According to the same NDRRMC update, 781,728 families were reported affected, which equates to 2,930,200 people living in 4,748 barangays across 13 regions.

As of this writing, there are 656 active evacuation facilities, which are housing 15,552 families, or 57,532 people.

Meanwhile, another 57,153 households, or 230,507 people, are receiving assistance outside.

The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said that the impacted households are a mix of individuals who have been displaced and those who do not require transfer or removal from their current residence.

So far, the government has provided PHP 239.2 million in aid to affected people in 11 districts. In addition, 55,584 dwellings were reported destroyed in 12 zones.
