SM Entertainment on Tuesday, Jan. 9, announced that NCT’s Haechan will temporarily sit out of future activities due to health concerns.

In a Soompi report, Haechan’s record label posted on Weverse that the K-pop idol suffered from flu symptoms with high fever while in Japan.

The results revealed that Heachan was suffering from tonsillitis and has been advised to rest, prompting SM Entertainment to pause his activities for a speedy recovery.

“Haechan will be unable to participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 scheduled for January 10 (Wednesday). Thus, NCT DREAM will participate in the Circle Chart Music Awards 2023 as six members Mark, Renjun, Jeno, Jaemin, Chenle, and Jisung. We ask for the generous understanding of fans,” SM Entertainment’s statement read.

The record label added that it would decide Heachan’s participation depending on his recovery.

Heachan is a member of the South Korean boy group NCT and sub-units NCT 127 and NCT Dream. NCT consists of 26 members and is known for its songs, “The 7th Sense,” “Boss,” and “Kick It.”
