NCRPO gears up for Robredo's rally on Saturday
by John Dexter Tilo22 April 2022

The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) on Friday laid out its security measures for the upcoming campaign rally of Vice President Leni Robredo on Saturday.

NCRPO spokesperson Jenny Tecson said their organization is already expecting an influx of individuals on Diosdado Macapagal Blvd and nearby roads, which are expected to draw thousands.

"Inaasahan na po natin na magkakaroon ng influx ng mga tao sa lugar na 'yan," Tecson told DZRH in an interview.

(We are expecting an influx of people in those areas.)

According to Tecson, NCRPO personnel will be holding a walkthrough prior to the venue to look at the closed areas affected by the event.

"Talagang tinitignan po natin 'yung sitwasyon diyan talagang magpo-provide tayo ng more than enough na personnel," said Tecson.

(We are really looking at the situation and we will provide more than enough personnel.)

"Hindi po natin isasantabi 'yung mga posibilidad na may mag-take advantage din sa sitwasyon, dahil alam naman po natin na kapag ganyan dadagsain po ng ating mga kababayan."

(We will also not disregard na the possibility of other people taking advantage of the situation, because we know in those events, it will be flocked by people.)

To further ensure the safety of the attendees, there will be over thousands of posts for perimeter security, according to Tecson, as well as police assistance desks. Covert security from the NCRPO will be deployed.

"May reaction team tayo at mobile patrol unit," said the NCRPO spokesperson.

"At bago po 'yung activity ay ipa-panel po natin 'yung lugar para masiguro na wala pong mag-iwan, walang naiwan na mga bagay-bagay na pwedeng mag-disrupt o mapanakit sa gaganaping activities."

(And before the activity, we will panel the place to ensure that no items are accidentally or intentionally left behind to cause disruption or cause hurt during the activities.)

Ahead of Robredo's political rally, the whole of Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard going to Buendia Avenue in Pasay City has been fully closed from April 22 to 24.
