The weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region has already surpassed the 20% benchmark as of May 3, according to OCTA Research.
This was confirmed by OCTA Research Fellow Dr. Guido David in a Twitter post, saying that the NCR 7-day testing positivity rate was reported at 20.4% as of May 3 from the 14% logged on April 26.
David noted that the last time it was above 20% was back on January 29, 2022, during the surge of the Omicron BA.2.
