The National Bureau of Investigation-NNational Capital Region (NBI-NCR) confiscated alleged counterfeit branded clothing and personal accessories worth P25.5 million in separate operations in Manila City and Malabon City.
With 18 search warrants, the NBI-NCR separately conducted raids in two stalls at the 168 Shopping Mall and four stores in the 999 Shopping Mall.
When the authorities opened the two storage facilities, they discovered various clothes, pants, shoes, and other imitations of branded products worth over P14.6 million.
The initial result of the seizure of the fake products, such as Vans, Under Armour, and Dickies products, was that they were collectively valued at approximately P14.6 million.
The NBI warns the public to refrain from supporting fake products, particularly now that the holiday season is fast approaching.
Meanwhile, the owners of the establishments will face multiple charges for selling imitations of branded products.
