The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has reached out to the International Police (Interpol) regarding dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who is believed to have left the country on July 18.
In a report by Boy Gonzales, NBI Director Jaime Santiago announced that the agency plans to request Interpol to issue a blue notice for Guo. A blue notice is used to gather additional information about a person's identity, location, or activities in connection with a crime.
"Tuloy-tuloy 'yan, nakikipag-usap kami, nakikipag-coordinate kami," Santiago stated.
Santiago also addressed reports suggesting that someone resembling Guo may have appeared before a notary to swear an affidavit in response to the human trafficking charges filed against her with the Department of Justice (DOJ). He noted that the NBI is investigating these claims to verify their accuracy.
During a Senate session on Monday, Senator Risa Hontiveros revealed that Guo had already fled to Malaysia on July 18.
However, Guo's legal counsel insists that she is still in the Philippines.
“Kahapon kausap ko, sabi niya nasa Pilipinas naman siya. Hindi ko lang alam kung saan sa Pilipinas," said Atty. Stephen David.
