A 20-year-old man was killed in Lapu-Lapu Avenue, Barangay Longos, Malabon City, on September 2, Saturday night.

According to Edwin Duque's report in MBC Network News, Daniel Gaudia Soria, 20, used to be the playmate of Jemboy Baltazar, the 17-year-old victim in the police mistaken identity incident in Navotas last July.

Based on the story of Daniel's live-in partner, LA Moral, her partner went out on the night of September 2 to drink with his friends. He was accompanied by Reynaldo Bolivar, Moral’s cousin. At around 10 p.m., Moral said she started waiting for her husband.

Moral disclosed that Bolivar was the person the Navotas police were after on the day they shot and killed Jemboy.

Bolivar was a suspect in a shooting that took place in the neighborhood close to Jemboy's home.

CCTV captured Soria running away from the assailants. In another video, Soria was seen limping after being hit by a bullet in the thigh.

Moral said that the suspects stole Soria's cellphone and used it to text her and inform her that her husband was dead.

Meanwhile, the Malabon City Police are said to be unable to issue a statement because their investigation is still ongoing.

Authorities said they now have leads but did not disclose further details.
