Tragedy has struck the Philippine esports community as they grieve the loss of two beloved Mobile Legends: Bang Bang personalities.
Ivan Emmanuel "Coach Navi" Gacho, who served as the head coach of RSG Ignite in the inaugural season of MDL, passed away on April 24 at the young age of 24, just a month before his 25th birthday on May 26.
Navi had been a prominent figure in the MPL scene, having previously played alongside renowned players like Karl "KarlTzy" Nepomuceno and Salic "Hadji" Imam back in Season 4.
Meanwhile, Charles Dave "Chad" Dela Pena, a former Nexplay EVOS boot camp manager, also passed away on Sunday, April 23 at the age of 27.
Chad was known for being like an older brother to many players in the MPL scene, including Renejay "Renejay" Barcarse and John Paul "H2Wo" Salonga.
The entire Mobile Legends: Bang Bang community is in deep mourning.
"The MLBB community deeply mourns the passing of two MLBB esports personalities Charles Dave "Chad" Dela Pena and Ivan Emmanuel "Coach Navi" Gacho," MPL expressed their condolences.
"Please join us in offering our community’s thoughts and deepest sympathies to Chad and Navi's families and friends that they left behind. May you rest in peace, Chad and Navi," it added.
Rest in peace, Chad and Navi.
