Kaila Jenna Napolis bagged the first gold medal of the Philippines in the 2023 World Combat Games.

Napolis ruled the women's jiujitsu -52 kilograms Ne-Waza after defeating Anael Pannetier of France, 2-0, on Wednesday, October 25, at the King Saud University Arena.

Prior the gold-medal match, the 25-year old Filipina jiujitsu practitioner also bested Adriana Cruz of Colombia in the quarterfinals, and Mongljin Ganbaatar of Mongolia,

Aside from the gold medal of Napolis, the Philippines has also bagged two silver medals, and four bronze medals in the multi-sports event that will run until Monday, October 30.
