The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has ranked third in the most stressful airports in Asia and Oceania, according to the data collected by travel blog Hawaiian Islands.

The blog analyzed over 1,500 Google reviews for over 500 airports around the world and scrutinized the sentiments of the reviewers using a stress analysis tool.

UK’s Manchester Airport emerged as the most stressful airport in the world, with 82.5% of reviews indicating stress. Other countries that followed were mostly in the Europe continent such as Greece, Germany, and France.

Data from the blog showed that around 57.1% of passengers passing through NAIA experienced stress. It was only topped by Vietnam's Tan Son Nhat International Airport with 60.1% of reviews followed by Australia's Sydney Kingsford Smith International Airport with 59%.

Sydney Airport ranked ninth in the world with the most delays, with 34.2% of flights scheduled between May 26 to July 19, 2022 delayed, according to FlightAware compiled by CNN Travel.

Hawaiian Islands concluded their report by highlighting that "adding higher fares, longer lines, and more delays to an already stressful environment can lead to unhealthy levels of stress and—in some cases—violent outbursts."

"Refusal to comply with safety instructions is a growing concern for the entire travel community and makes airport stress an important public health issue," they added.

Earlier this year, the California-based luggage storage app Bounce named NAIA as the worst airport worldwide when flying business class.
