Production company Evolve Studios released the official teaser of Mikhail Red’s “Nokturno” starring award-winning actress Nadine Lustre on Wednesday, Oct. 4.

The film, centered on Philippine folklore, revolves around Lustre’s character Jamie who went to her hometown after being abroad only to discover a curse wreaking havoc around her province.

Nokturno’s star-studded cast includes Gawad Urian Best Actress Eula Valdez, Bea Binene, Wilbert Ross, Ku Aquino, and JJ Quilantang.

“With ‘Nokturno’ I wanted to delve into Filipino folklore and reintroduce an ancient monster to a newer generation with a modern lens,” Red said In an interview with Variety.

“It has been a fun and collaborative set working with talented actors and some of the best crew and staff in the Filipino genre. I look forward to releasing our first film for Evolve Studios and hope we can also share this with an international audience as we explore distribution opportunities,” the director added.

This is the second time Nadine Lustre and Mikhail Red worked together on a horror film following the blockbuster film Deleter which bagged major awards during the 2022 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).
