The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) is calling on local government units (LGUs) to issue an ordinance that temporarily suspends swimming pools in a bid to conserve water this Summer season.
He added that water used in resorts and other recreational activities should be allocated for household consumers instead.
The agency also seeks to prohibit operations of car wash and golf businesses, Dorado said.
The MWSS official noted that this ordinance should be released during the emergency period, particularly this upcoming El Niño season.
Earlier, the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) urged the public to prepare early and conserve water amid the looming dry spell.
