The Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) on Thursday, Nov. 9, said it will probe reports of yellowish color of water supplied by the Maynilad Water Services Inc. (Maynilad).
This came after a barrage of customer aired their concerns on social media platforms regarding “poor aesthetic quality” of water from the water concessionaire.
“The [MWSS] is currently investigating the issue and coordinating with Maynilad to identify the root cause of the irregularity and implement any necessary corrective actions,” the agency said in a statement.

MWSS urged the public experiencing this problem to let the water flow until it turns clear. They are also advised to collect and store the yellowing water for non-potable uses.
“[The MWSS] assures affected customers that their health and safety are prioritized as the Office investigates the matter. It will remain committed to protecting consumer interest and welfare,” it added.
