After her successful journey in the recently concluded Miss Universe Philippines 2023 competition, where she secured a spot in the prestigious Top 18, Jannarie Zarzoso has decided to take a well-deserved break from the pageant scene.

In an exclusive interview with DZRH Showbiz Spotted, the talented representative from Cabadbaran, Agusan del Norte shared her thoughts on her hiatus.

"Not anytime soon. I'll focus on other things kasi all my life, I've been focusing on becoming a beauty queen [and] wanting to become Miss Universe [but] right now I want to focus on other things and put it on the side," the beauty said.

"So parang side thought na lang siya muna since I've experienced everything that I want to experience. I've done my causes, and I've elevated my advocacy on the national stage and even at the House of Representatives. So, I'm really happy with my performance and I would not have done it any other way," she continued.

Jannarie expressed her gratitude for the seven months she spent in Manila for the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. Despite the challenges she faced, she showcased her unwavering dedication and commitment to her goals.

Reflecting on the technical issues that occurred during the coronation night, she revealed one thing she would have done differently.

"I wouldn't have thrown my cape. Kasi, the thing was, we didn't practice the cape during our final rehearsal, so, it was really a challenge for us. Especially the girls who were lacking height because the cape was designed for super tall girls. I wish we were able to practice the cape," Jannarie shared.

Apart from her journey in the Miss Universe Philippines pageant, Jannarie also made a mark as the first-ever Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen of the Manila Broadcasting Company.

With this prestigious title, she had a message for those aspiring to be the next queen.

"I encourage all of you to join kasi my Aliwan Fiesta Digital Queen reign was exceptional. It prepared for the national stage, even though I did not join any pageants prior to that but because of the training, they equipped me to become who I am today," she stated.

Jannarie emphasized the significance of the platform provided by Aliwan Fiesta and the Manila Broadcasting Company.

She urged young girls to seize the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate, as the experience and care they receive are truly remarkable.

"This is indeed a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and I encourage all the young girls out there to grab it as much as you can kasi it's a really good platform plus iba talaga mag-alaga ang Aliwan Fiesta at Manila Broadcasting Company," the beauty added.

The Philippines’ grandest fiesta, Aliwan Fiesta, will officially return to the streets of Pasay City this July 13 to July 15 bringing back its three big competitions — the float parade, the Reyna ng Aliwan pageant, and the cultural street dance competition.
