The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTCRB) on Friday summoned the production team of noontime television show E.A.T over the "profane remarks" uttered by its program host Wally Bayola.
In a statement, MTRCB said its Monitoring and Inspection Unit monitored that Wally Bayola uttered the "profane words" in one segment aired live on Thursday, August 10.
"Said scene is in violation of Section 2 (B), Chapter IV of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of Presidential Decree No. 1986 (PD No. 1986)," it said.
The board scheduled the hearing on the violation on Monday, August 14 at the MTRCB offices in Timog Avenue, Quezon City.
The MTRCB reminded that fines and other administrative penalties/penalties shall be imposed on those who will violate PD No. 1986 and its Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) governing motion pictures, television programs, and related promotional materials.
Wally, who was impersonating a bodyguard, shouted "Put*ng*na" during E.A.T's "Sugod Bahay mga Kapatid" segment.
The scene went viral on social media platforms and was called out by several netizens.
On Friday, the noontime show host apologized for his words.
"Ako po ay may nabitawang salita na hindi ko dapat sinasabi, nagkamali ako do'n at ako ay humingi ng paumanhin at pang-unawa niyong lahat," he said.
"Pasensya na po, pasensya na po sa lahat," Wally added.
