The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) on Wednesday ordered all cinema operators to stop the premiere of the uncensored version of the official trailer of "Third World Romance", a movie by ABS-CBN Films' Black Sheep, due to profanities.

In a memorandum, MTRCRB Chairperson Maria Sotto-Antonio said that the board has not yet reviewed the uncensored version of the "Third World Romance" official trailer where the expletive phrase "put*ng *na" was uttered.

"We would like to remind all cinema operators of Section 1, Article III of Memorandum Circular No. 04-2014 which provides that only such versions of trailers duly approved and passed by the Board shall be fit for public exhibition. The introduction of any change or revision to the trailer reviewed shall render the trailer, as changed or revised, as a whole new version requiring a new independent application for review to the board," she said.

"In this connection, we strongly advise that you refrain from exhibiting the said version of the trailer," Sotto-Antonio added.

The MTRCB chairperson said they already issued a notice to the distributer or producer of the film's trailer to explain the scene.

The "Third World Romance" centers on two supermarket baggers Britney, as portrayed by Charlie Dizon and Alvin, as played by Carlo Aquino who both grapple to make ends meet amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

But while they are struggling to survive, they both find comfort and happiness with one another.

At the end of the uncensored 1-minute and 45 seconds trailer film, Britney cursed "put*ng *na" when her phone got drained amidst her conversation with Alvin.

The movie, directed by Dwein Ruedas Baltazar, is now showing in all cinemas nationwide.
