The Department of Transportation (DOTr) is mulling to put a barrier between the platform and the tracks at the Metro Rail Transit System - Line 3 (MRT) following the death of a passenger who jumped in one of MRT-3's stations.
During Laging Handa Public Briefing on Thursday, Transportation Assistant Secretary for Railways Jorjetee Aquino said the installation of platform screen doors has been proposed in the past.
However, she said this was not pursued due to budget constraints.
"Sa administration na ito, ating ipagpapatuloy ang pag pursue ng ganitong rekumendasyon kung kakayanin ng budget," she said.
Aquino assured that stations' security personnel will continue to be on guard and constantly remind passengers to prevent crossing the yellow line or marker on platforms.
"They will also continue to profile out passengers on out of the normal movements," she said.
