YouTube sensation and philanthropist MrBeast has been recognized by the World’s Guinness Record as the first individual in the world to gain one million followers on the same day that the new social media application Threads was launched.
In a news release, World’s Guinness Record said MrBeast gained 1 million “after posting three times” on the platform.
“It took the YouTuber, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, just a matter of hours to amass an impressive following. He reached the milestone at 2:42 p.m. (BST) / 9:42 a.m. (EST) on 6 July,” it said.
In his first post, the 25-year-old YouTuber wrote “Soooooo, how long until we’re also addicted to this app? Lol”.
He also pokes fun at his followers by saying “Like this if @zuck [Meta CEO Mark Zuckerburg should make me CEO [of Threads].”
The third post he posted stated that “I feel like I’m cheating on Twitter by using this app”.
As of this writing, MrBeast has 2.4 million followers.
In his bio, he wrote “Future Threads CEO; follow for cookie)”.
In his latest post on Threads, he announced that he will be giving out a Tesla car to a random follower, who will retread the said post within 48 hours.
The Tesla car has a logo of Threads.
MrBeast said this is his way to celebrate the application’s launching.
