The Manila Police District (MPD) has imposed strict rules prohibiting political activities during this year’s observance of All Souls’ Day, with large crowds expected to visit their departed loved ones.
In a report RH Boy Gonzales, Police Major Jake Arcilla of the MPD cited guidelines issued by the Manila local government to maintain order in both North and South Cemeteries. Among these rules is a ban on any political presence or campaigning, especially as the election season nears.
Furthermore, setting up tents, posters, or tarpaulins promoting politicians or candidates within the cemetery premises are also prohibited.
Further restrictions apply to political and private group activities, ensuring that the public can focus on remembering their loved ones in a peaceful, politics-free environment.
