A body of a motorcycle rider was found mangled after being involved in a hit-and-run accident under the MRT-Shaw Boulevard Station.
The victim suffered a gruesome death, with his head severed and several internal organs damaged, according to a report from RH 5 Val Gonzales.
The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) revealed that the victim was involved in a hit-and-run, but unfortunately, there were no witnesses to the incident. As a result, the CCTV cameras installed in the area will undergo a thorough review.
The accident occurred around 5 AM, but it took more than three hours to remove the deceased rider's body from the scene.
By 8 AM, the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) team arrived to process the rider's remains, causing significant traffic congestion on the southbound lane of EDSA.
Based on MMDA's estimation, the victim, who worked as an airline mechanic in Pasay City, was on his way to work when the tragic accident took place.
Although the MMDA personnel have identified the victim through his driver's license and other identification documents, his name is being withheld for now as his family needs to be informed first.
