Most of the priority bills mentioned by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. during his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) have been submitted and discussed during the 18th Congress but were not enacted into law, according to former president and Senior Deputy Speaker Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
In a report from DZRH's Milky Rigonan, Arroyo said she filed four of the 19 bills mentioned by Marcos during the 18th Congress.
The four bills include the creation of the Department of Water Resources, the Philippine Nuclear Regulatory Commission and a comprehensive nuclear regulatory framework, the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), and the mandatory Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) for senior high school students.
Arroyo described President Marcos’s first SONA address as “appropriately comprehensive” and “provides a blueprint for a medium action plan.”
The Senior deputy speaker appeals for the full cooperation of her colleagues in the 19th Congress to support the legislative agendas of President Marcos.
She said the job of the 19th Congress is to ensure to discuss and pass the legislative measures this will help the people and the country’s future.
