The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported on Sunday, Oct. 29 that at least 1,922 people across the country were arrested for violating gun ban implementation, a day before the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE)

According to the PNP, a total of 1,454 guns were confiscated, 1,683 were surrendered, and 2,325 were deposited for safekeeping, as recorded on October 27.

The PNP added that 30 out of 151 reported incidents are connected to the BSKE, which led them to install 317,596 checkpoints nationwide.

The gun ban implementation started on August 28 and will run until November 29.
