More than 150,000 individuals benefitted from the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Sultan Kudarat, according to the Office of House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Romualdez, who led the kick-off of the two-day event last Sunday, February 25, said that the BPSF '"demonstrates our unity and determination to serve our people, bring government service directly to them and make life easier and better for them."
"We stand together in our commitment to uplift every Filipino. Despite our political divergence, our collective aim remains resolute – to construct a Bagong Pilipinas that leaves no one behind," Romualdez said in a statement.
“Our substantial presence here at the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair underscores the broad-based support for President Marcos's decisive leadership in addressing the country's most pressing challenges,” he said.
At least 45 members of the Lower Chamber, most of whom came from Mindanao, participated in the 12th Serbisyo Fair.
Romualdez said that BPSF serves as a one-stop shop for residents to directly transact with government offices like the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Labor and Employment, and Land Transportation Office.
The House Speaker stressed that the event also serves as a venue for agencies to deliver assistance and service instantly to the people.
House Deputy Speaker David Suarez said on Monday, February 26, that the BPSF delivered over Php 1.2 billion worth of programs and assistance to the residents of Sultan Kudarat.
"Libo-libong mamayan ang nakinabang sa AICS. Libo-libong mamayang ang nakinabang sa TUPAD. Sobrang daming mangingisda at magsasaka ang nakinabang sa programang ibinaba ng Department of Agriculture," Suarez said in a press conference.
Suarez said that Romualdez also led the distribution of 500,000 kilos of rice to the residents.
Taguig 2nd District Rep. Amparo Maria Zamora said that the BPSF shows that more people benefit if the executive and legislative branches of government work "hand in hand."
"It is really amazing how 150,000 Mindanaonas were catered to yesterday. Ang mas marami pa na matutulungan in the following weeks to come," Zamora stressed.
