The Philippine National Police said on Tuesday that more than 1,400 cops will be deployed within Manila City in observance of Chinese New Year on February 10.

As early as January 26, the PNP-Public Information Office data showed that a total of 1,457 police officers were already sent out, of which 92 are commissioned officers and the other 1,365 are non-commissioned officers.

According to the PNP, police officers have been deployed for the Meisic Street Food Fair, while there will also be personnel sent out on February 1 for the Chinese New Year’s kick-off, as well as for the operation of Mercato Food Stalls in Intramuros on February 2.

More cops will also be assigned on February 9 for the Lucky Chinatown mall concert and Binondo-Intramuros fireworks display and for the Solidarity Parade, which will be held on February 10.

There will also be police officers to be dispatched, who will cover the areas of Ongpin Street from February 9 to 11.

Meanwhile, a total of 208 cops will be installed in several parts of Manila City on February 8, while 102 police officers will be put on standby from February 9 to 11 for public safety.
