A new string of sexual assault allegations hit the best-selling author Neil Gaiman, as more women have spoken out about their experiences with the famed author, U.S. media outlets reported on Monday.
The fantasy writer, 64, known for books “Sandman,” ”Good Omens,” and “Coraline,” has been entangled in yet another set of sexual assault allegations, since the release of the British podcast centred on women speaking up on the alleged incidents.
In an article by a U.S. media outlet, more women have spoken up on record about their experiences. Among nearly a dozen accusations from different women since 2023, a vivid flashback of the women’s experiences was detailed. One person who spoke out is Gaiman and his ex-wife Amanda Palmer’s former babysitter Scarlett Pavlovich. The latter recalled that she had babysat for the couple’s son at their home in New Zealand during the COVID lockdown.
Pavlovich claimed that she was persuaded to take a bath naked in the author’s back garden. Gaiman eventually joined her naked and performed sexual acts against her will. Among the things that she was asked to do, Pavlovich mentioned that Gaiman told her to call him “master.”
Another woman that came forward claimed that the author did not have any boundaries, and claimed that Gaiman had placed her hand on his privates.
In 2012, another person claimed that Gaiman had attempted to have sex with her on the tour bus. She was 22 at the time.
At a book signing event in 2007, another woman claimed that Gaiman had raped her at 18 years old.
Most of the women who claimed to have been assaulted by the author were in their 20s at the time of its occurrence, while Gaiman was in his 40s or older. The women varied; some were fans, while others worked with him.
In 2023, a police police report accused Gaiman of sexual assault, but the investigation on the matter was eventually dropped. No charges have also been made against the writer by authorities as of the time of this writing.
Since last summer, some of Gaiman’s projects have been paused or trimmed down. The supposed full third season of Prime Video’s “Good Omens” would end with a 90-minute TV movie episode instead. In an earlier report, Gaiman was said to have stepped back from the show’s production.
