A recent survey showed that more than half of the population in the Philippines oppose legalizing dvorce in the country.

The survey, conducted by the OCTA Research from June 26 to July 1, finds that around 57 percent of adult Filipinos stand against the passage of a law that legalizes divorce in the Philippines.

OCTA Research mentioned that the figure rose by six percent from the 51 percent of adult Filipinos who also voiced their opposition in legalizing divorce in the Philippines during the third quarter of 2023.

The survey also found that around 39 percent of Filipinos support legalizing divorce in the Philippines, while four percent remains undecided on the issue.

Based on the survey, Balanced Luzon has the highest number of Filipinos who oppose legalizing divorce (61 percent), followed by Mindanao (57 percent), Metro Manila (50 percent), and Visayas (49 percent).

OCTA Research conducted the survey through face to face interviews with 1,200 respondents.
