

As Mayon Volcano continues to show signs of unrest, the number of affected families also increase.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Wednesday, June 21, that the number of affected families climbed up to 10,171, which equates to 39,0057 individuals, throughout the Bicol Region.
The figure rose from the 10,167 affected, or 39,045 individuals, recorded on Tuesday, June 20, by the NDRRMC.
Out of the more than 39,000 affected individuals, NDRRMC reported that 18,899, or around 5,466 families, stay inside evacuation centers.
NDRRMC also said that the government has provided more than Php 73 million worth of assistance, including food packs, water, tents, and hygiene kits, to the affected population.
Mayon Volcano remains under Alert Level 3 status, which meant that a hazardous eruption could occur in the upcoming weeks.
From Tuesday to Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded a two volcanic earthquakes, 299 rockfall events, and seven dome-collapse pyroclastic density current events.
