The Department of Health on Sunday reported 182 more cases of COVID-19 Delta variant, bringing the total number of cases in the Philippines to 807.
Of the 182 new cases, the DOH said 176 cases have been tagged as recovered, one is still an active case, four have died, and one is still being verified.
According to the Health ministry, 112 are local cases and 36 are ROFs, while the origins of 34 cases are being validated.
The 112 local cases had indicated addresses in the regions of Metro Manila with 42, Central Luzon with 36, Calabarzon with 8, Mimaropa with 6, Northern Mindanao with 6, Central Visayas with 4, Davao Region with 3, Caraga with 3, Western Visayas with 2, Cordillera Administrative Region with 1, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao with 1.
Meanwhile, the DOH also confirmed the detection of the first case of the Lambda COVID-19 variant in the Philippines.
The DOH also detected new cases of the Alpha variant (41), Beta (66), and Theta (40), based on the latest whole-genome sequencing report of the University of the Philippines-Philippine Genome Center and the University of the Philippines-National Institutes of Health.
These raise the total number of Alpha variants in the country to 2,232, and the Beta variant to 2,483.
