The city of Manila has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with Sinag Maynila for the 6th edition of Sinag Maynila 2024 independent film festival on Monday.
The agreement was signed by Manila Mayor Maria Sheilah Lacuna-Pangan, Vice Mayor John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto, and Secretary to the Mayor Atty. Marlon Lacson, together with Wilson Tieng, the Solar Entertainment Corporation President and CEO, and internationally acclaimed director, Brillante Mendoza.
Sinag Maynila would be held in September 2024, and screened in select cinemas. On its final run, the festival would conclude with the Gabi ng Parangal, held at The Metropolitan Theatre. This would be in partnership with Manila’s Department of Tourism Culture & Arts Office, just in time for the city’s Tourism Month.
This year, they would feature Filipino stories made by Filipinos for international audience, with the theme, “Sine Lokal, Pang Internasyonal.”
They are accepting entries for full length, short films, and documentaries until July 24, 2024, 11:59a.m.
