MBC Media Group (MMG) Chairman and CEO Federico “Fred” J. Elizalde and MMG President Ruperto “Jun” Nicdao Jr. have been named among the Media Specialists Association of the Philippines’ (MSAP) 2025 Media Icons.

The awarding ceremony was held on Wednesday, November 26, at the Synergia Media Congress.

Since 1985, Elizalde has led MMG, the operator of DZRH, the oldest commercial radio station in the Philippines, along with Love Radio, Yes! FM, Easy Rock, Radyo Natin, and Aksyon Radyo.

Nicdao pushed for the rebranding of MMG (formerly the Manila Broadcasting Company or MBC) and the company’s expansion into television, digital media, events, promotions, talent-management and more. He also chairs the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), the broadcast industry’s self-regulatory body.

The MSAP is a non-profit organization under the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), comprising members from various media agencies and independent professionals. The association aims to promote the responsible dissemination of information, improve media practice among companies, foster interconnectivity within the media ecosystem to ensure cohesion on shared issues and causes.
