The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced that the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) will extend the screenings of its official entries until January 14, available only at select cinemas.
The MMFF was originally scheduled to end on January 7. However, the MMDA Chairman and concurrent MMFF Overall Chairman Atty. Don Artes explained that the extension was made in response to requests from numerous moviegoers and the general public.
Furthermore, Artes expressed his sincere gratitude for the ongoing support for the MMFF.
“We, at the MMFF, are overwhelmed with the continued support of the public for the festival’s 50th edition. Due to public clamor, we have decided to extend the theatrical run of the MMFF movies to further showcase the locally produced films that are truly impressive and artistically excellent,” Artes stated.
Along with the extension, the MMFF complimentary passes, will also be honored until January 14.
With its proceeds going to various film industry beneficiaries, the MMFF is dedicated to promoting and preserving Philippine cinema.
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. previously encouraged the public to support and patronize the films featured in the 2024 edition of the film festival, which is also celebrating its 50th anniversary.
