Filipino films once again took center stage at the highly anticipated Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) Gabi ng Parangal, celebrating the creativity and brilliance of the nation’s filmmakers, actors, and production teams.
The awards night took place on December 27 at The Theater at Solaire in Parañaque.
In celebration of its 50th anniversary, this year’s MMFF featured ten official entries that demonstrated a rich variety of genres, capturing the depth and creativity of the local film industry.
Dominating the awards night, GMA Pictures' Green Bones claimed six major awards, including the prestigious Best Picture prize.
Kapuso star Dennis Trillo was named Best Actor in a Lead Role for his exceptional performance in Green Bones. Furthermore, his co-star Ruru Madrid won the Best Actor in a Supporting Role award.
Judy Ann Santos bagged the Best Actress in a Lead Role award for her gripping performance in the horror film, Espantaho.
In her acceptance speech, the versatile actress stated that all ten competing films deserved to be called winners.
