The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has warned the public about fraudulent emails claiming to contain traffic violations under the No Contact Apprehension Policy (NCAP).
According to MMDA, these emails often include instructions to pay fines by clicking a button, but they are not legitimate.
The MMDA said that the official NCAP email notifications are sent only from “[email protected]”, while text messages come from “MMDA_NCAP.”
The agency emphasized that real-time NCAP notifications:
-
Do not contain payment links
-
Do not allow replies to the sender
-
Do not include SMS contact information
-
Do not display the name of the registered vehicle owner
The MMDA advised the public not to click on any links or buttons in suspicious emails or text messages to avoid scams. Recipients are encouraged to verify the source of the information through legitimate channels.
If anyone receives a suspicious email or message, they should report it immediately by calling the MMDA Hotline 136 or messaging the agency’s official social media accounts.
Violators can check legitimate NCAP violations at mayhulika.mmda.gov.ph.
