The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Tuesday, March 26, announced the three-day temporary suspension of the number coding scheme in observance of Semana Santa or Holy Week.
In an advisory, MMDA said the suspension of the modified unified vehicular volume reduction program or number coding scheme will take effect on Holy Wednesday (March 27), Maundy Thursday (March 28), and Good Friday (March 29).
"Planuhin ang biyahe at mag-ingat sa pagmamaneho. Hangad ng MMDA na maging mapayapa ang inyong Lenten season break," it said.
Malacañáng Palace earlier declared Maundy Thursday and Good Friday as regular holidays.
