The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) appealed to Filipinos regarding the proper disposal of garbage following the New Year’s celebrations on Monday.
In a post on its social media platform "X", the MMDA reported that it collected a total of 60 trash bags during the clean-up drive conducted at Rizal Park in Manila, where most people gathered to welcome 2024.

It appealed to the public to be responsible in taking care of the environment through proper disposal of trash to get into recycling.
Based on the data of the National Parks Development Committee, a total of 109,000 visitors went to Rizal Park on December 31 last year, which is among the most visited parks in the country.
